ob Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electric Gas Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electric arc and gas welding to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components and structures in accordance with specifications, safety standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding process specifications.
Operate electric arc welding and oxy-gas welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, and gas welding).
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Set up, maintain, and inspect welding equipment and tools.
Clean and prepare metal surfaces before and after welding.
Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Repair and maintain existing welds or structures as needed.
Monitor the welding process to avoid overheating, warping, or material defects.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Maintain records of completed work and inspection reports.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred.
Proven experience (2–5 years) as an electric/gas welder in a similar role.
Proficiency in electric arc and gas welding techniques.
Ability to work with various metals such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Physical ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy materials, and stand for long periods.
Knowledge of welding safety procedures and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, ASME).
Welding certification (e.g., AWS, ASME) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors depending on project requirements.
Exposure to heat, fumes, loud noises, and hazardous materials.
Use of welding PPE is mandatory.
